Sunday 8:18pm

Our discussion tonight at church revolved around persecution. Matthew 5:9-10, I wanted to get some of the thoughts that were formed during the time we were at church, on paper. We collectively resolved, that, persecution for righteousness sake encompassed the consequences of the unwillingness to conform to the spirit of the world.

Somewhere during this conversation I began to think about those (Christians) being persecuted (terribly) in other countries and how they are dying. If we are a family in Christ, why, with all of our resources… are we devoting our efforts to agendas that are not centered there… American government views itself as supreme authority; not God. So, we will save an American??? not Christians??? Our priorities as a country are so far gone from Christianity… To live in ‘Our house’ (Christian America) and have a friend/neighbor/family member in another home (Christian Foreign) who is being physically abused in their home… what do we do? Especially in the case that our home seems to be broken itself… can you reach out to others while you yourself (home) are/is divided. We opinion, and the case of our spirituality as a nation in Christ would seem weak at best… I resolved within myself that the answer would be to continue to walk in Christ, and continue to be “the salt of the Earth”. To continue to place my faith in Christ… looking to Him, that He can put me where He would have me be. To live any other way seems absurd compared to where the scale of ‘good and evil’ seems to lie. God is sovereign and He is all that stands between us and the wickedness of the enemy.
