Devotion Title: THE CONTEXT OF HOPE:

Hope is born of faith, by way of any number of circumstances. An observation made by the author points to an idea that hope is of the poor… ” hope usually makes its home with the poor…” that “hope eludes the rich and powerful.” Hope is a gift… nonetheless… not a natural occurrence… it is a gift to those God empowers to see a future of grace and renewal. Hope is bestowed upon those who can do nothing more; the powerless, the broken. “To despair is to have nothing.” Hope–>”gift” .. I’ve never thought of hope as being a gift, as prevalent as it has been in my life. Hope is ever-present with me, but times I have found it lacking; were terrible… feeling there would exist no end to my torment, at my own hands…

Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:8

This whole chapter is very appealing in that, I am regarded (believers) today with another individual and i felt lead to go inside and cease due to ‘nightfall’. I did not feel in my heart that glory was being given to God… many of the verses of 1 Thess. 5 speak of being of the day. “That whether we wake or sleep, we should sleep together with Him.”

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7(KJV)
