Devotion: ‘From Moralism to Freedom’
…before I get into explaining or speaking about my devotion… I have to point out the fact that I had a dental appointment this morning. I went in, I have 3 teeth needing extraction. One is in horrible shape, the other two are seemingly fine. Instead of the bad tooth being removed, they took out the best-looking tooth…ha! I was a little befuddled but I trust God. The printer was not working so they couldn’t provide me with a prescription. Ha! (For ibuprofen). They also run out of ibuprofen they may have had on hand, but I trust in God… This morning I heard some crap about my old counselor not being allowed over to the center to “speak” anymore. he was also responsible for bringing my mail over from the “rescue mission’. (Which is where I lived before I come over to the O.C.), but that was brought up for nought. I let the notion die so I could preserve joy.
Devotion (contd.) The freedom believers receive in Christ is more ethically significant than anything else? Upside-down kingdom rather than “tired practice of conservative ethic”.
Verse: Matthew 5:38-39
It’s incredible that these verses speak concerning teeth. The verses are not directly concerning teeth, but it’s intriguing that a verse is also speaking of the cheek and I can’t feel my cheek right now. (From dental visit.)
