Devotion: “Real World”—arena for ACTION.
*Passage I’ve read for devotion, concerns God’s participation in our lives. His joining “with us” rather than just “taking us” out of the world.
Our speaker this morning shed light on overcoming our adversary (addiction) as David overcame Goliath via faith. And his being ordained by Christ over his brothers. Our speaker yesterday also spoke of David and Goliath.
I read four pages this morning also that spoke in reference to working in secular environments, and how this can be gain for Christ, and an opportunity to be a light amid darkness; it is not always necessary to leave your job. “Secular is not bad, but strategic” That was the title of the subject matter. This was a parallel to what I read in devotion. This has been happening more and more frequently, where the Holy Spirit will draw more and more similarities through messages throughout the week and I can place more attention into storing those messages.
Reading through Prayer of Jabez… read it once or twice when I was younger, and prayed the prayer, but wouldn’t have recognized the territory Christ provided had it slapped me in the face. Reading it now, but not being quick to do anything, but simply gain understanding.
